Dr. Mitchell is a board-certified and Connecticut state-licensed optometrist who provides comprehensive eye care to patients of all ages.
Dr. Mitchell specializes in using medically necessary contact lenses for diseased and irregular corneas. She has extensive experience fitting scleral (MSD) and custom-designed lenses for patients with keratoconus and corneal scarring conditions. She is passionate about her profession and her patients.
Dr. Mitchell received her Doctor of Optometry degree from The New England College of Optometry, where she graduated with honors. She completed her clinical training at the cornea and contact lens department at Boston Medical Center, the advanced low vision and primary eye care clinics in the Boston Veterans Administration Hospital System, and South Boston Community Health Center. She has extensive experience managing ocular disease, including glaucoma and diabetic eye disease, anterior segment pathology, dry eye disease, and surgical co-management.
As a Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (VOSH) member, Dr. Mitchell has volunteered her time to international optometric mission work, providing eye care in the Dominican Republic. She has also served as an Adjunct Clinical Instructor for the SUNY School of Optometry.
