Gaurav Gupta, M.D., a board certified ophthalmologist, specializes in retinal and vitreous diseases and surgery. Dr. Gupta graduated Summa Cum Laude from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and received his medical degree from the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester, MA. He completed his residency in ophthalmology at Rhode Island Hospital /Brown Medical School and continued his training in vitreoretinal diseases and surgery at Northwestern University in Chicago, IL.
Dr. Gupta has expertise in the contemporary treatment of the full spectrum of medical and surgical retinal diseases including macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal vascular occlusions, macular holes, complex retinal detachment, trauma, chorioretinal tumors and uveitis.
Before joining The Rhode Island Eye Institute in 2009, Dr. Gupta was a vitreoretinal surgeon at The Marshfield Clinic, the dominant healthcare provider in central Wisconsin, providing modern and innovative treatment options to his patients.
Dr. Gupta is a native of New England having grown-up in Andover, Massachussetts.
