Urgent & Important Update About Help Paying for Your Retina Injections

We want to make you aware of an important change that affects how some patients pay for retina injections.

For many years, a non-profit organization called Good Days helped Medicare patients pay for part of their treatment costs. Unfortunately, Good Days has run out of funding, and this support is no longer available—at our practice or anywhere else in the country.

What This Means for You:

  • If you were receiving financial help from Good Days, you will now be responsible for your co-insurance payments (your portion of the bill).
  • As a Medicare provider, we are required by law to collect these payments.
  • This change is not something we control—it is part of a national shortage of charitable funding.

Please Don’t Skip Your Injections
We understand that this news may be upsetting. Please keep your scheduled appointments—your treatment is important to protect your vision. If cost is a concern, we may be able to help in other ways:

  • Lower-cost medication options, there may be other treatment options available which may reduce your out-of-pocket expense (to discuss with your doctor)
  • Care Credit, a program that allows you to pay medical expenses over time
  • Medicare Supplement Plans (such as AARP Medicare Supplemental Plan G), which may cover more of your medical bills if you are in the traditional Medicare program

If you would like to explore your insurance or payment options, you can:

  • Call Medicare at 1-800-633-4227
  • If you're considering switching back to traditional Medicare to enroll with a supplemental plan, the deadline is March 31, 2025
  • Please speak with our staff as we are here to help

We know this change may create hardship for some, and we are committed to helping you continue care in the most affordable way possible.

Feel free to contact your clinic if you have questions.
